WHY JOIN TOASTMASTERS? Here's one from one of our WHY JOIN TOASTMASTERS?
Here's one from one of our long-time members:
When ZOOM, in early 2020, replaced in- person Gilbert Toastmaster meetings due to Covid-19, I didn’t know what ZOOM was or how to use it.
However, with the assistance of more savvy fellow Toastmasters I learned how to use this great two-way communication tool.
I realized that ZOOM would be an excellent way to reach out to my relatives in western New York, Chicago, Cleveland, San Jose and Phoenix for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
I found all relatives interested in participating, and this will be the second year that we will be ZOOMING for the holidays. Thanks Gilbert Toastmasters.

WHY JOIN TOASTMASTERS? Here's some thoughts from a WHY JOIN TOASTMASTERS? Here's some thoughts from a recent new member:
I had no idea what to expect. I knew that you could go and develop your public speaking skills and so that's why I went. To develop my public speaking skills. And when I first went there, my first session, I was very, very nervous. It scared me to talk in front of other people because my whole life I felt scared about it but I never really understood why I was scared. I never really cared about people judging me, but for some strange reason I was still scared.
Toastmasters helped me to feel more comfortable speaking in front of groups of people, and not care what people think. They're going listen to you no matter what you say. So if you focus on being authentic and maybe throw a few jokes here and there, you're going to have a successful Toastmasters experience. I've been going to Toastmasters for around five months and I can confidently say that I feel a lot better when I talk in front of people. I can confidently talk and not worry about what I'm going to say because I know that the people that are there actually don't judge you when you talk. They actually listen and they care about you. All the fears of public speaking seem to vanish the more and more you speak in front of other people. I am so thankful that I went to Toastmasters. It has truly blessed my life and brought a lot of peace and happiness into my life because I can now face large crowds of people, instead of being shy and nervous.
