Even in this unusual environment we find ourselves in, Gilbert Toastmasters has continued to thrive and was recognized by District leadership with two awards.  An excerpt from the letter follows and the awards are shown below.

In honor of Cinco de Mayo, the theme of our May 5t In honor of Cinco de Mayo, the theme of our May 5th meeting was FIESTA! It was a celebration to remember, and there was jollification to spare! 

•	Garth showed his spirit, and accepted the Vicki Treciak award! 
•	Cornelius won over the audience and won Best Table Topics!
•	Megan shone as Best Evaluator, as she evaluated our new member, Mandy!
•	Jenny gave a speech, challenging the audience to think critically about the questions they ask, and took home Best Speaker!

Our Toastmasters were right on time, rocking their communication skills at our April 28th meeting! The theme of the night was “It’s Tricky”, and it was quite tricky to decide on just one winner for each category! 

•	Taking home our Vicki Treciak spirit award, was new member Karen!
•	Megan was quick on her feet for the impromptu speaking, and won best Table Topics! 
•	Marie dished out some excellent feedback, and walked away with Best Evaluator!
•	Vijay wowed the audience, and accepted Best Speaker!

What are you thankful for? Our Toastmasters were t What are you thankful for? Our Toastmasters were thankful for another opportunity to hone their communication skills, at the April 21st meeting! The theme was “Thank You Thursday”, and gratitude overflowed!

· Jay stepped in as Table Topics Master last minute, and stepped away with the Vicki Treciak Spirit Award!

· Rob wooed the audience with his stories, and won best Table Topics!

· Angie took home Best Evaluator, for the second week in a row! She provided amazing feedback to David… speaking of David….

· David’s objective was to “Connect with the Audience” which he obviously did, as he accepted Best Speaker of the night!

It was all fun and games at our April 14th meeting It was all fun and games at our April 14th meeting, which was fitting as the theme was “International Moment of Laughter Day”! Each portion of our night was filled with joy and laughter! 

A few honorable mentions…

· Our biggest cheerleader Renee showed her club spirit, and won our Vicki Treciak award!

· Cornelius took the challenge of Table Topics seriously, and wowed the audience, accepting Best Table Topics!

· Angie provided Garth with wonderful feedback on his speech, and took home the award for Best Evaluator!

· Amber shared her life experience and the growth that led her to where she is now, and walked away with Best Speaker!

The internet is defined as being a global computer The internet is defined as being a global computer network, providing a variety of information and communication facilities. Our April 7th meeting, with a theme of “The Internet” also provided our members and guests with a variety of information, as everyone aimed to continue to improve their communication skills!

· Tina went above and beyond, and won our Vicki Treciak Spirit award!

· Jay, our guest, provided a hilarious story about responding to computer hackers and took home Best Table Topics for the second week in a row!

· David took his role seriously, and ultimately accepted the award for Best Evaluator!

· Angie shared her experience of becoming a perfect protégé, and succeeded in securing her spot as Best Speaker!

We were blessed at our March 31st meeting; the theme was “Be Cheesy” and we had good companions to share the evening with! As we share the winners, we hope you don’t mind as we go out of our whey to try and wedge in some cheese puns!

· Mandar decided to brie-ng it, and won our Vicki Treciak Spirit award!
· Jay, our guest, was quite sharp as he responded to a cheesy pickup line and ultimately accepted Best Table Topics!
· Evaluators always provide great insight to our speakers, and Jesus wasn’t bleu about taking home the Best Evaluator award!
· Vijay tried his best not to grate on the audience, and succeeded in winning Best Speaker!

There was no escaping the magic of our 3/24 meetin There was no escaping the magic of our 3/24 meeting, which had a theme of “Houdini”! Harry Houdini was known for his innovative and imaginative stunts, and each of our participants used innovation and imagination as they worked to improve their communication skills!

· John was recognized for going above and beyond, and accepted the Vicki Treciak Spirit award!

· Rob enchanted the audience and took home Table Topics!

· David earned Best Evaluator with his spectacular feedback!

· Megan entertained our audience until the end, and won Best Speaker!

Each of our winners made sure seize opportunities and make their own luck, at our St. Patrick’s Day meeting on 3/17!

~Vince shared some good luck with everyone who spoke, and took home our Vicki Treciak spirit award for his generosity!
~Joy didn’t need a four leaf clover, as she walked away with Best Table Topics AND Best Evaluator!
~Vincent provided us with another episode of “Coffee with Vincent”, and stole the hearts of his audience. He took home Best Speaker!

The theme of our 3/3 meeting was “Lucky Numbers”, and regardless of whether you believe in luck, everyone in attendance counted themselves lucky to spend the evening with such a fun group of diverse speakers!

 ~Garth took home the Vicki Treciak spirit award, thanks to his willingness to step up and fill the Table Topics Master role last minute!

~Megan may have been General Evaluator, but that didn’t stop her from participating in Table Topics, and ultimately winning the audience over!

~Angie gave top-notch feedback to Cornelius, and accepted Best Evaluator! 

~Jenny did her best to have “more fun” with public speaking, and succeeded in making the crowd laugh with her silly slideshow about the horrors of pregnancy, before winning Best Speaker!

The theme of our 2/24 meeting was Michael Jackson, The theme of our 2/24 meeting was Michael Jackson, and it was a Thriller! Although there was noticeable lack of moonwalking, the night was enjoyable as always!

~Rajeev stole the hearts of his audience, and took home Best Table Topics!
~Megan made it look as easy as 123, as she won Best Evaluator! 
~David didn’t stop ‘til he got enough, and walked away with Best Speaker!

February 10th marked our first 2022 Speech Contest February 10th marked our first 2022 Speech Contest!

Saying it was amazing would be a huge understatement; each participant did a wonderful job and the audience enjoyed hearing the creativity of each of our speakers!

And the winners are…. *drum roll*

In our International Speech portion:
~Jennifer inspired the audience to embrace being crazy, and won gold!
~Vincent spoke on procrastination, and didn’t delay on taking home silver!

In our Table Topics Speech portion:
Each contestant was asked if perfection exists.
~Rajeev collected a gold medal for saying that perfection absolutely exists, and he saw it when he held his firstborn baby.
~Tony received silver, when he shared his thoughts that perfection does not exist, but instead we are all just trying our best!

Special shout out to Megan and Angie, for all their hard work in ensuring the contest ran smoothly! And thank you to all who volunteered their time in a variety of roles, ranging from judge, timer, ballot counter, etc.!

~Rob won the Vicki Treciak Award, for his spirit and commitment to the club! This month, he celebrates 20 years in our Gilbert Toastmasters club!
~Vincent took home Best Table Topics, for his beautiful commendation of Rob. 
~Vincent ALSO collected best evaluator, for sharing thoughtful feedback on Cornelius’ speech.
~Cornelius and Lauren TIED for best speech. Cornelius spoke on how to become a teammate instead of a fan, and Lauren shared interesting information about actual R.O.U.S’s… the capybara!

FEBRUARY 10th IS OUR CONTEST, beginning at 7pm!! Guests are always welcome, and the contest is a perfect opportunity to visit the club, meet our members and see if Toastmasters is the right fit for you!

However the night was anything but repetitive!

~Ben took home Best Table Topics, and won bonus points for correcting the pronunciation of our Word of the Day!
~Rob gave great feedback, and received Best Evaluator of the night!
~Angie earned Best Speaker of the night, for sharing some of the life lessons she has learned from chess!

It was anything but a Silent Night at our December It was anything but a Silent Night at our December 16th holiday party! The night was full of laughter, fun and plenty of merriment!

Our president, Renee, passed out several awards, looking back at 2021: 

•	Rob won “Most Attendance”
•	Lauren won most “Vicki Treciak Spirit Awards”
•	Rajeev was awarded for having the most “Best Table Topics”
•	Megan and Lauren tied for receiving the most “Best Evaluators” 
•	Jenny  won for having the most “Best Speeches”

Please note -- there is no meeting December 23rd! We will be resuming our club beginning on December 30th.
