Gilbert Toastmasters Club is a Non Profit Organization helping members become better Leaders, Speakers, Listeners and Thinkers.

This week’s Table Topics theme was "Fall Season, This week’s Table Topics theme was "Fall Season," the time of year when trees turn to kaleidoscopes and the sun begins to settle down in preparation for winter, giving opportunities for hiking without heat stroke and other outdoor activities which our Table Topics masters explored in their playful impromptu speeches.

Marie Feutrier wove a story of her journey as a leaf falling from a tree. She began by getting ready for her journey by putting on her most beautiful color, gold. Her journey is not about getting down, but about renewal, changing, and getting ready for the next season. She reminded us that even if you're going through a hard transitional time right now, it won't be too long until spring comes again.

Tony Valles gave a powerful speech that opened with him standing at his office door, unable to bring himself to close it, because once he did, his career of 38 years would also come to a close. As he stood with his hand on the door, he transported everyone back to a tearful childhood memory of moving from the only home he'd ever known, and the refrain from his mother echoed through time, "My son, this is not an end, it's a new beginning!" That shift in perspective was a gift his mother gave him that comforted him throughout not just his childhood, and he offered that same gift to us.

Rajeev Dave gave a wonderful evaluation of Tony's speech. He brought conscious awareness to what Tony did masterfully, allowing the audience to see behind the curtain of the craft of a master storyteller. He also provided constructive feedback on how to bring the audience even further into the story Tony painted with his words and movement on stage.

Van Caracut won the Vicki Treciak Spirit award for his incredible work as a mentor as Gilbert Toastmasters.

Congratulations to our award winners of the evening!

Rajeev Dave held a hilarious company meeting in his Table Topic where he berated the audience jovially and was left with no choice but to cancel email at the company.

Guacy Barnes gave a speech that started playfully then had the audience on their feet as she laid out what it truly takes to turn dreams into reality.

Vincent Feutrier gave the best evaluation of the night, and showed how to turn a good speech into a show stopper.

Damian Carrillo, our recent Tall Tales winner, won the Vicki Treciak spirit award this week for his incredible attitude and commitment to serving the club as VP of Education.
